Divorce Attorney Goes After Dead Beat Dads Ex-Wife For His Past Attorneys Fees.

At 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 18th 2012 Ms. Delanna Stahl was informed by her attorney that if she didn't come up with $5,500.00 for her Ex Husbands past attorneys fees by 3:00pm on Thursday, April 19th that her ex's attorney would have Ms. Stahl picked up by the Orange County Sheriffs department and thrown into County Jail for contempt of court.
Ms. Stahl was shocked and confused. It's bad enough that Ms.Stahl is unemployed and on permanent disability with a special needs child but since their divorce her Ex-Husband Jonathan Roy Stahl hasn't made any of his court ordered $200.00 a month child support payments let alone pay his own divorce attorneys fees. During the divorce Mr. Jonathan Stahl boasted to his soon to be Ex-Wife that he planned on filing Bankruptcy and that his attorney can collect his fees from her. Ms. Stahl spent most of Wednesday afternoon at Fidelity Financial Services in Mission Viejo, Ca. where she was told by her financial adviser that the withdraw process for her 401k retirement account would take up to 10 working days to complete thereby making Ms. Stahl late on the supposed court ordered payment. Ms. Stahl said that she would never had agreed to pay her Ex Husband's attorneys fees and that her own attorney somehow had her sign something but never disclosed what it was to her.
Ms. Stahls former husband Jonathan Stahl of Huntington Beach, Ca. had been working full-time at the Aliso Viejo, Ca. Lowes Home Improvement store until he discovered that he was under investigation by Lowes store supervisors, rather than be faced with the chance of being fired Jonathan took an official leave of absences from Lowes and started working right away at Home Depot in Huntington Beach, Ca. According to the personal director at Lowes Aliso Viejo, Lowes was not aware that Jonathan had been employed by Home Depot and they were under the impression that he had just taken some personal time off.
A Master of Deception
One interesting thing that took place in the court room during the divorce proceedings was when Ms. Stahl had asked the court to be reimbursed for half of the medical bills she paid when her son broke his leg his first day at Summer Bible Camp that Jonathan Stahl insisted their 12 year old son attend. Ms. Stahl's 7th grade son was tackled by a 12th grader from another church while in a "Jolly Jump". (Fearing for her son's safety, Ms. Stahl felt from the very beginning that it wasn't a good idea that her 12 year old son to spend a week with bunch of rowdy high school boys but Jonathan Stahl insisted that his son attend.) In court Jonathan said that he was NEVER told that his son broke his leg. Jonathan said "If my son broke his leg, she never told me" even though Jonathan was the first one to rush to the hospital as soon as he heard that his son had broke his leg. That night while at the hospital Jonathan assured Ms. Stahl that their son was alright and not to take the long drive up the mountain. However, Jonathan conveniently filled out all the hospital paperwork stating that Ms. Stahl was financially responsible for their sons broken leg even though his son was covered under his employers medical insurance policy.
Also, the church that Jonathan attends and is best friends with the Sr. Pastor told Ms. Stahl that the church was not responsible for her sons accident and that they didn't carry any insurance that would cover it either. The Pastor basically told Ms. Stahl that she needed to accept this as God's way of punishing her for divorcing her husband.
Later in the hallway of the court house Ms. Stahl was in tears when Jonathan Stahl approached her and asked why she was upset? Ms. Stahl said that she couldn't believe he would lie in court about their son's broken leg. Jonathan replied "I never said that he didn't break his leg".

It's now been over Three years since Jonathan Stahl was removed from Ms. Stahl's personal residence where he was mandated by the Orange County Family Court to move into the couples jointly owned Laguna Hills Condo. At the time Ms. Stahl's oldest son and a roommate had been renting the unit from the couple. Once Jonathan Stahl moved into the Laguna Hills condo he decided to ignore the court order that specifically stated that he was to make the Bank of America mortgage payments on the Laguna Hills condo. Most likely because Jonathan Stahl's name wasn't on the Bank of America loan however his name was on the title. After two years of living in the condo rent free and not making any of the mortgage payments let alone the condo association dues, Bank of America foreclosed on the Laguna Hills property forcing Jonathan Stahl to move back into his previously rented out condo in Huntington Beach, Ca. that he had co-owned free and clear with his father before his fathers death.
Now Ms. Stahl has been hit with a 200k 1099 from Bank of America for capital gains on the foreclosed condo because Jonathan Roy Stahl refused to obey the court order and never made the mortgage payments as required. During those two years Jonathan Stahl refused to move out of the condo so that Ms. Stahl could at least rent the condo out to cover the mortgage and keep it from going into foreclosure. Ms. Stahl suggested to her attorney that they go after Jonathan Stahl for contempt of court and get him removed from the condo but her attorney thought it would be better to just get another temporary restraining order against Jonathan Stahl instead.
Soon after the death of Jonathans father, Jonathan Stahl mortgaged his free and clear Huntington Beach condo during the height of the real estate boom only to let it go into foreclosure even though its believed that he had the means to make the payments. Jonathan Stahl eventually did a mortgage reduction with his lender stating that he was in a financial hardship. Mr. Stahl has never accounted for the over 800k in cash that he borrowed against the Huntington Beach condo in the first place.
Ms. Stahl was working Full Time for over 20 years as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Saddleback and Memorial Hospital systems until she had an emotional breakdown and couldn't handle the pressure of both her extremely stressful graveyard shift and having her estranged husband Jonathan Roy Stahl showing up at the hospital unannounced and according to hospital security cameras and local police reports "hiding out in the parking lot late at night" which was in clear violation of his restraining order. "I loved my job Ms. Stahl said, but it got to stressful for me and because of Jonathan no one in my unit wanted to work with me anymore, they all feared that something might happen to them because Jonathan kept showing up at the hospital late at night when everyone in the hospital knew that he was ordered by the Court to stay 100 yards away from me." Saddleback Hospital even put up warning flyers around the hospital with Jonathan Stahl's picture on them. The hospital eventually asked Ms. Stahl to take six weeks of vacation and sick leave, hoping things with her co-workers would eventually cool down.
Ms. Stahl went on to say that she felt so violated and taken advantage of by her Ex Husband, his lawyer and even her own attorney. She also was told by her own attorneys Fiancée who lives in the same neighborhood as Ms. Stahl and who recommended she hire her Fiancée that Mr. Stahl's attorney and her Fiancée were long time friends.
Looking back at all that has taken place Ms. Stahl now wonders if she ever really had anyone representing her during the divorce proceedings. Her attorney kept telling her "It is what it is, just sign the papers so that we can get it over." Her attorney never disclosed or explained to Ms. Stahl the messy hand written papers she was actually signing and he also didn't leave a copy with her to later review or even look at. She knows that she would never had agreed to pay her Ex-Husbands Attorney's Fees and she's still not sure exactly what she signed. Ms. Stahl has even reached out to world renowned women's activist Gloria Allred to see if it's not to late to help her and to see if both attorneys tricked her into doing something that she would have never knowingly agreed to do in the first place. At this point Ms. Alfred was to busy to get involved with Ms. Stahls case.

Their marital trouble started early in the marriage when Ms. Stahl found a box of letters and pictures in their garage that were sent to a different address during their marriage from a woman up north telling Jonathan how their son was doing in school, sports, etc. Ms. Stahl found this all puzzling until she found some adoption papers in the box stating that Jonathan Stahl and a Mrs. (Name Protected) were the biological parents of this child. After putting the pieces together Ms. Stahl confronted her then husband Jonathan Stahl with the information and asked him if he had an affair with a married woman, if she got pregnant and if they put the baby up for adoption? Jonathan denied the whole thing, the affair, the baby and even the adoption. After further investigation Ms. Stahl found out that the married woman that Jonathan had the affair with was divorced by her husband soon after he discovered the affair and her pregnancy. Ms. Stahl said that had she known of the affair prior to her and Jonathan dating she would never ever had gone out with him.
During their marriage Ms. Stahl agreed to seek counseling with Jonathan Stahl. "I wanted to do everything I could to save my marriage, I didn't want my son to be without a father." But after seeing 3 or 4 different Christian counselors that were ironically all friends of Jonathan, none of them could get Jonathan to become completely transparent in their marriage. "I remember one time Jonathan's best friend was the Sr. Pastor at the church we were attending had asked Jonathan during one of our counseling sessions to write down all his financial responsibilities and obligations. Jonathan wouldn't do it so our Pastor and Jonathan's best friend said that we can't go on any further and from that point on all the Pastor's on his staff refused to counsel us."
At that point Ms. Stahl realized that Jonathan was living a dual life and she couldn't trust him. Jonathan once told their son that it's not a lie if you don't disclose it. To this day Jonathan Stahl still denies that the child is his stating to Ms. Stahl that there was never any DNA test to prove that it is his child. However, we found it interesting that Jonathan Stahl has a Nevada Corporation named "Jonathan & Sons" even though Mr. & Ms. Stahl only have one son together and Mr. Stahl doesn't have any children with either of his first two wives.
To be completely fair we tried to contact Mr. Stahl to report his side of the story but after many failed attempts to reach Mr. Stahl on his cell phone plus we could never leave him a message because his voice mail was always full we eventually gave up trying to reach him.
